Summary: Seeking a Buyer responsible for applying purchasing principles to ensure timely acquisition of products or services and resolve supplier-related issues.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or relevant discipline Experience or exposure to supply chain concepts and methodologies Intermediate computer skills and understanding of electronic processing

Preferred Skills:

Analytical and technical skills for business practice automation recommendations Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Responsibilities:

Identify and recommend suppliers by researching availability of parts, equipment, machinery, services, and materials Conduct supplier site visits to evaluate production capability and performance Prepare requests for quotations and submit purchase orders with approved suppliers Maintain accurate lead times for assigned commodities Evaluate bids for standard and non-standard items; negotiate price, delivery, quality, and service Develop alternate sources of supply by researching prospective suppliers Monitor supplier performance and advise on potential contractual failures Resolve shipment quality discrepancies through mediation between suppliers and manufacturing Facilitate resolution of issues via conferences between suppliers and company personnel Negotiate damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials with suppliers

Pay Details: $24.00 to $33.00 per hour
