Aston Carter's client is seeking a Buyer to join their team! This individual will be responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Negotiate material components from manufacturing representatives.Confer with new suppliers to seek out most cost-efficient products.Generates reports needed for procurement.Create and review material requisitions and purchase orders for materials on a consistent and timely basis.Coordinate and take ownership for programs that will assist the operation in meeting/exceeding inventory objectives while ensuring build schedules can be produced as needed.Contact approved carriers to arrange transportation of purchases and expedite shipping of critically needed materials.Provide volume forecasts to suppliers to ensure future supply needs can be met.Take corrective action with suppliers for defective or damaged materials and Communicate with personnel to determine and control conditions of goods and services.Work closely with management, personnel and suppliers to develop ways of improving material quality and reduce costs.Work within established guidelines related to system parameters and approved supplier lists.Other essential duties and responsibilities as required.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Must Haves:
•\t1+ years of experience in materials management, procurement, or related supply chain fields (review material orders, purchase orders, transportation of purchases, negotiate with suppliers, **running MRP, cutting purchase orders, following up on past dues, review orders with suppliers, strategic sourcing piece)
•\tAnalytical skills to maneuver through all Microsoft products
•\tExperience using MS Excel
•\tGreat attitude and willingness to learn
•\tERP or MRP Experience
•\tApplying Continuous Improvement tools and concepts
•\tExperience with blueprint (quoting, measurements)
• Familiar with steel, aluminum or commodities
Nice to Have:
•\tAPICS CPIM (Planning and Inventory Manager) or APICS CSCP (Supply chain management) accreditation
•\tEpicor Experience
•\tNegotiation Experience
•\tCommodity Pricing
•\tSourcing Experience
•\tCasting or Hydraulics Experience
•\tFasteners Knowledge
•\tAssociate or Bachelor’s degree
•\tMust be able to travel when needed
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $62000.00 - $73000.00/yr.
