The Rotary Drilling Division within Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology is a global supplier of rotary production drills for open pit mining applications and is in Alachua, Florida, USA. We are now looking for a dynamic and experienced Buyer Analyst. The location for this position is Alachua, FL.

As a Buyer Analyst, you are responsible for procurement to support production and after-market support. To purchase goods and services from suppliers by creating and releasing purchase orders, administrating order acknowledgments/confirmations, and following up and tracking deliveries. Ensure contract compliance with and use of global/regional/country/local contracts.

The key responsibilities are:

Demonstrate respect and commitment to the IMS System, taking accountability for its effectiveness and continued improvement.Purchasing components based on requirements within MRP.Ensures the system is accurate with supplier data such as lead times, coding of buyer, and supplier data.Expedite, de-expedite, and cancel parts based on production requirements.Purchasing components for Maintenance, Repair, and Operation (MRO) via hand requisitions or through the internet approval sites. (As needed)Resolves any invoice disputes with the supplier.Resolves non-conforming parts by sending parts back to the supplier for evaluation, rework, or replacement.Gather information from suppliers to gain a better understanding of assigned suppliers' supply constraints.Monitors supplier performance through open orders to ensure timely delivery of parts.Assist with OSMI Dispositions*Sets up onsite meetings and facilitates discussions between suppliers and internal customers.Lead meetings for projects as assigned.Support and mentor fellow buyers as needed.Support fellow buyers as needed.Cross-trained as a backup for fellow buyers.Other Duties as assigned.

Required Competencies

Ability to embrace Sandvik values.Ability to follow instructions and processes to perform the functions of the job.Ability to function independently and produce results that meet standards of quality, timeliness, and acceptability with minimal supervision and general direction.Ability to type 35wpm and 10-Key data entry.Creativity to continuously improve processes.Experience with manufacturing processes such as metalworking, fabrication, and welding.Familiarity with production costing and supply chain optimization strategies.Fluent in both written and oral English; Spanish is a plus.Knowledge of ERP or MRP and their applications.Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.Strong interpersonal and leadership skills are required.Strong Analytical and problem-solving skills.Basic training in ISO process controls.Experienced in forecasting systems.Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals to perform a variety of tasks associated with the position.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.Computer Skills:MS Office knowledge – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook  ERP knowledge – LEAN, Lean MES, and usage a plus bachelor’s degree in business mgmt. Or applicable studies with (7) years of experience,Or associate degree & 12+ years’ experience in purchasing manufacturing parts.Or Equivalent Educational background with 15+ years’ experience in purchasing manufacturing parts.
