The Buyer is responsible for handling the full life cycle of assigned materials. Our Buyer will ensure availability of components to meet production schedule demands and will maintain acceptable inventory levels within defined parameters. This role is pivotal in supporting production with the materials they need, at competitive prices.
Key AccountabilitiesAccountable for overall inventory position and availability of ‘assigned’ items Determines dispositioning actions of E&O material (in concert with departmental/company goals)Partners with Strategic Sourcing to establish strategic suppliers for all major commodities, both international and domestic, who can deliver ideal QDC and allow us to meet working capital goals Assists in negotiations of contracts with strategic suppliersNegotiates better pricing from incumbent suppliersTransfers logical parts to Kanban (CEK)Manages the relationship between suppliers and factories Relays defects & issues with goods and communicates them to suppliersProcesses special tasks within the BU systems Collaborates with internal and external stakeholdersQualifications/RequirementsBachelor's degree, preferred 5+ years related experienceUnderstanding material requirements for purchasing, planning, and schedulingAbility to work with multiple stakeholders, balancing team and individual responsibilitiesFamiliarity with and understanding of continuous improvement and lean conceptsStrong analytical skills using data parameters to make purchasing decisionsStrong working knowledge of MS Office applications – particularly ExcelHigh degree of creativity, flexibility, and resourcefulness in the pursuit of cost improvements Total Rewards and BenefitsCompetitive Salary: $68,640 - $75,000Medical, Dental, Vision, STD, LTD, AD&D, and Life InsuranceMatching 401(k) ContributionHealth Savings AccountEducational ReimbursementMatching Gift ProgramThe compensation range(s) identified abo are a good faith estimate of the salary expected to be paid as performed from these locations.
