A Buyer II is responsible for buying franchised finished goods items within a specific buying portfolio of high impacting suppliers, maintaining inventory for these products to meet customer fill rate goals and corporate inventory objectives. An integral part of this position is the ability to communicate optimally, tackle problems, and ensure the timely supply of products to customers. The successful candidate is responsible for maintaining close relationship with suppliers to develop innovative ways to improve and ensure that customer fill rate goals are met or exceeded. A Buyer II proactively finds ways to improve operational efficiencies and drive performance improvements by applying Practical Process Improvement Business System tools and collaborating with internal business partners.
What will you do?
Ensure execution and detailed validation of all purchasing processesInfluence departmental metrics including: Customer Fill-rate, Supplier performance, and Financial Performance (DOH, Excess & Obsolete, Expiry)Build and maintain key supplier relationshipsDrive supplier improvement by developing and communicating information to influence actionMaintain optimized execution and product flow throughout the supply chainIdentify, mitigate, and communicate potential risks to the success of the business with appropriate teams (NA Supply Chain Planning Management, Canadian Cross Functional Departmental Leads, Portfolio Management etc.)Initiate and facilitate cross-functional projects to improve supply chain performanceDrive continuous improvement through PPI project participation and leadership.Minimum Requirements /Qualifications:Post-secondary education preferred with a background in a business, procurement, or logistics field2 years of minimum work experience in a business environment (procurement is helpful)Successful performance results with proven resilience to overcome obstacles along the way.Effective written and verbal communication skills with call to action messaging.Attested ability to build strong interpersonal relationships through positive, flexible and engaging interactions.Ability to effectively prioritize and work independently.Detail oriented and proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and OutlookPreferred Qualifications:Enrolment in, or completion of, Certified Purchasing Professional designation program of APICS certification is an assetDemonstrates sound judgment, persistence and tactProficient with Thermo Fisher Scientific ERP, Cognos BI, SQL and ability to build macros are an asset.Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset
