The Opportunity
The Color Cosmetics Buyer is charged with buying saleable product by discovering, encouraging, and cultivating new ideas while keeping the customer at the heart of everything that they do. Responsibilities include assembling seasonally appropriate merchandise assortments, and identifying and developing key promotional business drivers. Build their business by identifying and executing strategies as well as collaborating with internal teams to maximize sales.
Your Impact
Identifying and developing new products and brands that will consistently surprise and delight the QVC customer throughout the variety of platforms. Seek out opportunities for promotional items such as TSV’s, ODP’s and Key Items that will drive the business.Lead, engage, and develop a team consisting of Assistant Buyers. Successfully find the balance between delegation and accountability for the successes and failures of the team. Develop skills and knowledge needed for higher performance. Create a coaching and feedback rich environment by supporting the team’s development. Inspire others to give their best effort by leading within the QVC values.Drive the business to ensure that financial plans are achieved.Effectively conduct strong vendor negotiations that best supports business objectives. Discover new vendors and leverage existing vendor relationships to fill gaps in the product assortment.Develop and lead long term assortment planning utilizing market data and historical information that supports the overall strategy for your business. Maintain an understanding of market trends and customer behavior.What You Bring
You hold a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent business experience.You have a Minimum of five years’ experience in a Retail Buying environment or equivalent position. Prior experience managing/leading others preferred.You have led a team of merchants.Demonstrated ability to operate independently requiring limited supervision and exercise proper judgment.Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to interface well with cross-functional teammates.Excellent organizational, detail-oriented skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.Leadership: Ability to effectively lead, direct and develop others.Ability to make decisions to achieve desired results.Ability to analyze data and draw relevant conclusions to have positive effects on business.Superior negotiation and persuasion skills.Join us as we enrich life’s everyday moments – including yours.
