Job Description
We are seeking a Buyer III to join our dynamic team, focusing on an automation project deploying equipment across North America. This role involves adding new equipment, data, and power across multiple sites in a short period. You will work closely with contractors, internal project management teams, engineering teams, and vendors to ensure the smooth execution of our initiatives.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop and manage relationships with key suppliers and business partners to support project execution.Review supplier designs and proposals to ensure scope, pricing, and schedules align with business needs.Support sourcing processes consistent with company policies.Facilitate suppliers' understanding of global policies, equipment design standards, budget targets, service, and quality expectations.Drive continuous improvement and value engineering to support performance metrics: quality, delivery, capacity, cost, and safety.Monitor suppliers' supply chain, manufacturing, and human capital in relation to program objectives.Administer change management programs ensuring alignment with commercial agreements, focusing on cost, quality, and schedule.Develop alternate sourcing strategies to optimize costs and ensure continuity of supply.Essential Skills3-5 years of buyer experience.Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups) with 2-4 years of experience.Data analysis experience (2-4 years), including using tools to analyze data sets and compare codes.General contractor construction knowledge, including troubleshooting permit issues (2-4 years).Experience in negotiating and program management.Supply chain negotiating experience.Experience working on large or mid-size projects.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working with vendors and contractors.Proficient in reviewing and comparing quotes.Intermediate skills in Vlookups and pivot tables in Excel.Flexible degree requirements.Permit knowledge is beneficial.Strong analytical skills for reviewing and comparing quotes.Work Environment
The team is part of the Supply Chain supporting automation for delivery stations. The automation program involves extensive vendor work and requires managing contractors and internal supply chains. The team consists of 10-12 people, operates in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and collaborative environment. Typical tasks include 50% meetings with team members and suppliers, and 50% focused, heads-down work. This role offers high visibility and impact, with opportunities for growth and learning within the automation field.

The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $38.00/hr.
