The Buyer MRO (Maintenance, Repair, & Operations) will receive requirements from program representatives and will source for approved manufacturers, suppliers, and distributors for the requested products and services, issue Request for Quotes (RFQ) and respond with pricing and availability for all material or pricing and turn-around times for repair services. For captured contracts, the Buyer will receive purchase requisitions, validate requirements from corresponding source, and issue POs in accordance with program contractual requirements, within the signature authority and established process, and utilize the company’s Enterprise Resource and Planning (ERP) System. Oversee the RFQ and Purchase Order requirements from issue through material delivery or completion of services, and coordinate, track, and expedite all open items.
Supplier Relationship Management:
Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers in the aerospace and defense industry.Evaluate supplier performance to ensure adherence to quality and delivery standards.Procurement Processes:
Execute end-to-end procurement processes, solicit quotes and issue purchase orders, including requisition review, supplier selection, and negotiation.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand procurement requirements.Market Analysis:
Identify sources of supply and repair and obtain information on product and/or service specifications, price, delivery dates, and ensure all applicable data is current.Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and stay informed about industry trends.Analyze market conditions to optimize procurement strategies.Cost Negotiation:
Negotiate favorable terms and pricing with suppliers.Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or timelines.Compliance and Documentation:
Ensure procurement activities comply with relevant regulations and internal policies.Maintain accurate and organized documentation for audit purposes.Provide support and data as requested for administrative purposes and in support of the Quality Management System.Risk Management:
Identify and mitigate risks associated with the procurement process.Implement strategies to address potential disruptions in the supply chain.Provide support and data as requested for administrative purposes and in support of the Quality Management System.Education
Associate degree in business, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management from an accredited university/college required. Related work experience may be substituted for education requirements (2 years of related experience is equivalent to 1 year of college).Experience
One (1) year experience in an active procurement role or four (4) years’ experience in an administrative role required.License, Cert or Registration
Current drivers’ license, proof of U.S. citizenship or proof of authorization to work in the US and the ability to satisfy a background investigation to obtain a security clearance. Within 12 months of hire, must possess one of the following certifications:Institute for Supply Management (ISM)
Accredited Purchasing Practitioner (A.P.P.)
Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.)
