Job Purpose

Manage the required stocking levels of purchased materials that are needed to maintain an optimal production schedule, created by a Demand Planner and executed by several production lines, while working within a set of procurement policies and guidelines.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Reviews customer orders on a daily basis Contact potential vendors, perform reference checks, review quotations and evaluate each purchase requisition for the most appropriate methods of procurement 

Review purchase orders for accuracy Establish priorities for assigned commodities with key vendors and ensure priorities are maintained Maintain effective communication with both internal and external customers Interface with all levels of management both internally and externally  Continuously strive to reduce the cost of assigned commodities Interact with the engineering department to assist in the sourcing of materials, with respect to cost, quality, and availability of materials

Generate reports per specified processes that measure key buyer performance metrics

Qualifications

Minimum

2-3 Years of Similar Experience; Inventory Management a Plus 

At minimum High School Diploma, preferred Associate's or bachelor's degree in procurement or a related field

 Knowledge of software programs, including MS Office, etc.

 

Preferred

Foreign language is a plus, English a must A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills. Must be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced quickly changing environment.  Knowledge of MRP and ERP   2-4 year college degree or higher in business or related field General Job Requirements This position will work in an office setting, expect minimal physical demands.
