Buyer/Planner

What We Need:
As a Buyer/Planner for the organization, the role will coordinate and be responsible for, activities involved with procuring & planning of goods and services such as raw materials, FG production, indirect supplies to support our daily operational needs. Support of purchasing and planning duties will be through our SAP ERP system, BMIS and product launches for manufacturing and distribution sites. You will be responsible for putting the customer at the center of everything you do and for modeling all of the Brady Focal Points and Values.
What You'll Be Doing:
+ Create and monitor production schedule based on demand, raw material availability and urgencies.
+ Re-schedule production schedule based on demand changes, raw material availability changes and urgencies.
+ Monitor production progress, material inventories, and other factors affecting a production schedule.
+ Create, confirm, and monitor purchase order progress, material inventories, and other factors affecting purchased items.
+ Create, confirm, and monitor indirect purchase order progress, other factors affecting indirect purchased items.
+ Support and participate in discussions with peers and address demand changes-expedites, increases, push out, cancellations, product knowledge questions, and other clarifications.
+ Manages the total inventory dollar.
+ Manage Quality Notices impacting Production schedule and/or Purchase plans
+ Review, address and resolve Logistics Issues with Supplier/Brady Logistics team
+ Maintain Purchasing Master Data-Pricing, contacts, vendor changes, lead time, set-up new / reactivate old vendors.
+ Resolve any invoice issues with the accounts payable team.
+ Work with all Brady team members to provide excellent on time delivery to our customers.
+ Assist with any process improvement opportunities that affect the Planning/Purchasing.
+ Make planning and purchase decisions in accordance with company procedures and regulations
+ Be able to work with a variety of departments including, but not limited to. Sourcing, Engineering, R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Receiving, and Master Schedulers to clarify purchase requisitions, identify departmental needs, and refine specifications for future purchase orders
+ Other duties as assigned.
What You Will Need To Be Successful:
+ Associates degree; Bachelor’s degree in Business/Supply Chain Management preferred.
+ Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing, distribution, inventory environment or relevant intern or co-op experience.
+ Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
+ Proficient with MS Office or similar type of operating system.
+ Utilize a positive, proactive, professional attitude.
+ Ability to effectively negotiate.
+ Strong communication and analytical skills.
+ Minimum 3 years’ experience in Purchasing, Planning, Supplier and materials management.
+ Knowledge of SAP preferred.
+ CPM or CPIM certification is preferred or willingness to obtain.
