Our client in the manufacturing industry is seeking a Buyer/Planner to join their team. As a Buyer/Planner, you will be a part of the procurement department supporting logistics and vendor relationships. The ideal candidate will have related experience, willingness to learn, and be a good part of a team.
**Job Title:** Buyer/Planner
**Location:** Whitakers, NC
**What's the Job?**
+ Enters and maintains data into Excel to manage any circumstance related to a supplier issue for tracking and plan/action records.
+ Manages supplier releases within client's system working with vendors to ensure on time delivery and performance.
+ Controls the inventory in accordance with management objectives, setting safety stock and reviewing system for proper settings of all parameters to ensure delivery.
+ Works closely with related departments to communicate any part shortages and recovery plans.
+ Reports any shortages, missed deliveries, etc. related to the production environment to the Materials Manager for assisted action through use of the Critical Shortage Report.
**What's Needed?**
+ Effective verbal and written communication skills.
+ Attention to small details as well as strong math skills.
+ Excellent computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
+ Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
+ Ability to work independently as well as within a structured team.
