Job Description Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Buyer/Planner to join our team. As a Buyer/Planner III, you play an important role in interpreting material demands, executing procurement activities, and coordinating material movement to meet production schedules. This person requires strong leadership abilities and the capacity to engage in advanced functions with minimal supervision.

The Buyer / Planner III interprets material demands generated in the ERP system based on submitted demand from internal customers.  Provide proposal support and analyze demand for excess and obsolescence conditions.  Execute procurement (micro purchase) activities as required using a process supported by a Draper issued credit card in a business climate that serves Government and Commercial customers. 

Place purchase requisitions in the ERP system and work with Draper Corporate Procurement specialists on order placement, vendor management, and other duties. Support additional Draper independent purchase requirements.  This is a senior level position requiring the individual to provide leadership and engage in additional advanced functions with minimal supervision. Work with Draper management to derive more efficient processes and procedures with respect to material acquisition, inspection, and movement.

Job Description:

Duties/Responsibilities
• Plan, order for and report on high visibility priority programs requiring detailed procurement requirements and schedule adherence.
• Perform inventory analysis and launch procurement in Epicor and / or PeopleSoft.
• Perform electronic component procurement for Government and Commercial customers.
• Meet with production personnel to ensure on time delivery from manufacturing.
• Perform obsolescence analysis and Interface with Engineering as obsolescence and lead time issues are uncovered.
• Send engineering generated source control documents to vendors and work with vendors on compliance.
• Tailor routings for receipt and incoming inspection of parts based on contractual requirements upon order placement.
• Obtain documented objective evidence (IE CoC, customer flow downs, quotes, etc.) and maintain records, as required, to support internal and external audits.
• Resolve DMR issues affecting receiving and planning.
• Monitor PO status starting at internal approval, through vendor acknowledgement and ultimately delivery.
• Resolve receiving, kitting, planning and invoicing problems.
• Oversee RFQ with vendors to obtain price and delivery information.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills/Abilities
• Strong understanding of ERP systems.
• Epicor and /or Oracle PeopleSoft.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong understanding of FAR/ DFAR, ITAR and ISO requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products; Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

Education
• Requires an Associates Degree in business or related field of study, may substitute with equivalent years experience.
• APICS training or certification preferred.

Experience
7-10 years of buyer planner or relevant experience.
