 As a Buyer/Planner Lead at Trojan Technologies onsite in Grand Rapids each day, you’ll be an integral part of launching our new location, reporting directly to the Director as a technical expert. This is a unique opportunity to help establish distribution operations and shape this location from the ground up for an exciting future. In this multifaceted role, you’ll wear many hats, including supporting Health and Safety initiatives, hiring and training the frontline team, and embedding Trojan’s culture. You will follow Procurement Best Practices, Programs, and Procedures in a dynamic, product and project-based, custom-engineered environment. Additionally, you will manage sales order release and fulfillment based on customers’ requirements and serve as the main contact for Operations, Sales, Customer Service, and Logistics.

In this role, you will:

Maintain accurate ERP data, including lead times, pricing, inventory stocking levels, and country of origin.

Review and maintain inventory levels to prevent stockouts and overstock situations.

Evaluate and act on purchasing reports to support production and customer delivery, including MRP/PRP; expediting, rescheduling, and cancellation messages.

Purchase and maintain non-inventory supplies to support other business team needs.

Evaluate and report on vendor performance, focusing on on-time delivery and quality to achieve ‘best in class’ standards.

Interface and collaborate with global procurement teams to establish continuity and quality inputs across the business.

Drive revenue and customer satisfaction through Daily Management and applying VES process tools.

Coordinate production throughout the Engineering change process (EN’s).

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and team activities as required by the Manager.

Maintain value stream daily management metrics for delivery and inventory, and update daily planning performance metrics.

Create and maintain production schedules.

Evaluate and take action to maintain desired inventory levels.

Are you qualified?

Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations Management, Business or equivalent

Minimum of 5 to 8 years of procurement / category management experience, planning / sales coordination    

2 year of MRP / ERP materials planning system experience. Baan or LN experience is a plus

Warehouse/Distribution experience an asset

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.

The compensation range for this role is $73,000.00 - $82,000.00 USD per year. This job is also eligible for Bonus Pay.

We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
