Buyer - Procurement Officer

Emerson is seeking a highly motivated Buyer - Procurement Officer to join our team in Verviers, Belgium. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, collaborating with various departments to ensure smooth procurement processes and uninterrupted supply. As a Procurement Officer, you will be responsible for purchasing goods, materials, and services to meet the company's operational needs, considering price, quality, and delivery to ensure a consistent supply in line with our CQDSC strategy.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Include:

Request for Quotation: Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best prices and maintain required quality standards. Negotiate delivery times and payment terms according to production needs, ensuring purchased materials are within budget, and are aligned with corporate and plant strategy. Purchase Order Management: Prepare purchase orders in line with RFQ negotiations, ensure visibility of delivery dates, and address technical requests. Revise orders as necessary and manage late or expedited delivery requests to ensure timely delivery (RDSL). Progress of Orders / Expediting: Follow up on orders with Logistics for timely delivery, contact suppliers for late or expedited deliveries, anticipate supply problems, and support Quality in addressing non-conforming materials.  Sourcing and Cost Reduction: With the support of the Global Supply Chain team, identify new suppliers to deliver equivalent or better materials at lower costs. Continuous Improvement: Actively contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the department's processes and procedures. Engage in lean activities and initiatives to elevate the efficiency and integrity of the department and the organization as a whole. Coordination: Collaborate with PSQ, PMO, Production & Inventory Controls, and Operations across all project stages. Participate in Kick-Off Meetings, attend internal and supplier meetings as needed. 

For This Role, You Will Need:

Previous experience in sourcing, operations management, materials management, and/or engineering, preferably within manufacturing. Proficiency in English and French. Excellent negotiation skills Ability to collaborate effectively with various departments to meet operational needs You thrive in dynamic environments and are committed to continuous improvement and excellent in procurement processes You are autonomous and enjoy challenges

Who You Are: 

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated professional with a strong background in procurement and supply chain management.

Preferred Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree in Technical or Business, or equivalent experience. Advanced Microsoft Office skills and extensive experience with core software applications (ERP)
