RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop Category Strategies for bottles, closures, and labels, review and align with key stakeholders and implement. Negotiates, reviews, and approves blanket purchase agreements with suppliers for overall management of up to $200 million annual spend.Lead Sourcing events for packaging, at competitive prices consistent with quality, quantity, and delivery specifications.Lead post-sourcing event transition management work with goal of clear communication in collaboration with plants, minimize write offs, and maximize savings realization.Mid-range forecast communication to suppliers in collaboration with plants to ensure product availability at supplier’s warehouse.Contract Management: Implement contracts in partnership with legal and stakeholders to ensure compliance to contract policy.Negotiates, reviews, and approves blanket purchase agreements with suppliers for overall management of up to $200 million annual spend.Supplier Management: Establishes, develops, and maintains supplier relationships, providing data driven KPI feedback, continuous improvement, and holding QBR’s. Identifies and recommends alternate suppliers and/or substitute sources of supply.Engage key stakeholders, including plants, R&D, Marketing, and Operations, to gather input to strategy, review supplier performance, and provide metric driven actionable business improvements. Monitors market conditions and advises management of changes in supply prices and lead times.

 

Level of position, whether Buyer or Senior Buyer - Corporate Procurement, will be based on level of experience and skillset. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

5+ years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, operations, engineering or a related field.Strong pattern of initiative and achievement.Highly developed interpersonal and leadership skills.Proven problem-solving, decision-making and negotiation skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States.Applicants must not now, or in the future, require sponsorship for an employment visa.

Preferred

Bachelor's degreeFunctional knowledge and understanding of the following computer/software programs:  Financial Systems Software (Oracle) and other Hormel systems (AS 400, EAM, QAD, etc).

 

Location: Austin, MN or Willmar, MN 

 

A comprehensive relocation package to the Austin or Willmar, MN area will be offered, if required.

 

At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base hiring pay range for the position is between $80,775 - $128,425 per year, and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.
