Hybrid: This position requires to work 3 days on site 2 days at home remote on a full-time basis
The Role:
As a Buyer you will be responsible for purchase of all or a specific portion of productive and/or non-productive materials, supplies, machinery, tooling and/or services. You will be expected to actively participate in the development of a commodity strategy, executing sourcing and negotiations, contribute to global material budget execution, and collaboration with suppliers and internal partners.
Work requires a demonstrated ability to function collaboratively, display initiative, an ability to assess options via analysis as well as a capability to exercise independent judgment and recommend plans of action for the larger commodity team.
What You'll Do:
• Responsible for maintaining sourcing pipeline, benchmarking data, strategy presentations, global budget, and on-time metrics
• Adhere to corporate and departmental purchasing and accounting practices and procedures
• Sourcing and contracting activities that include, but are not limited to:
o Sourcing strategy, bidlist development & management
o Quote analysis and review
o Coordination and alignment of RFQ package components, including Terms & Conditions, SOR compliance, technical documentation and quality alignment
o Leadership sourcing recommendation and alignment with cross-functional teams
• Management of sourcing documentation related to RFQ process in adherence to the GM Audit Services requirements
• Support direct material budget activities
• Lead/Support supplier relationship management initiatives, including “Strategic Supplier Engagement” and nurture relationship with strategic suppliers by acting as a focal point for commercial issue resolution
• Perform change management activities
• Lead or represent the purchasing function in supplier KPI reviews
• Represent purchasing and support mitigation of supply chain disruptions
Skills & Abilities:
• Bachelor’s Degree required, with preferred focus in Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or related field required
• 2+ years relevant post-graduate work experience in purchasing, supply chain, program/product management, logistics or product development
• Experience with commodities required
- Fluent in English language
• Demonstrates ability to execute with direction or support in the following competencies:

• Ability to travel
