About the Job:

 

Establish processes to efficiently manage the merchandising programs for their specific brand(s), which contribute to, and support the merchandising strategies of the company resulting in the attainment of its financial goals and objectives. The Buyer will be responsible for financial targets of the brand(s) and will need to exhibit ability to strategically analyze the business to independently make decisions and recommendations on how to drive the business while taking initiative to understand variance to plan and prior year. Key responsibilities include driving to sales targets, business analysis, receipt management, inventory and margin management, brand management and interfacing with Pacsun leadership. Buyer will work closely with cross-functional partners in visual merchandising, planning/ allocation, digital, and marketing for strong execution of brand(s) across all platforms to drive to results of the brand(s). The Buyer will need to exhibit exceptional communication and organizational skills as they will be the liaison between Pacsun and their brand(s) which requires professionalism and the highest level of detail. The Buyer will direct the activities of their brand(s) in accordance with the approved plan; review results and implement appropriate action where required. Identify and manage emerging and declining trends in a timely manner and partner with cross-functional teams to mitigate. Buyer’s emphasis will be on key branded partnerships on the Women’s side of the business.

A day in the life, what you’ll be doing:

 

 

Maintaining strong relationships with key brand(s) through daily communication Analyzing business results for Stores and Digital and making recommendations for their brand(s) · Presenting new strategies and opportunities for sales and profits for their brand(s) Driving sales and margins through cross-functional partnerships, processes, and strategies Identify opportunities and risks in-season through analyzing sales performance Prepare for meetings & projects with Planners, Allocators, Digital/Store and Pacsun Leadership Work with both Visual Merchandising and Site Merchandising for best execution of brand(s) Work with Digital team to maximize performance of Emails, SMS, and Social for their brand(s) Performs other related duties as assigned by DMM Knowledgeable in women’s brands as well as current trends in RTW Able to guide and support Assistant Buyer or Merchandise Coordinator

 

 

What it takes to Join:

 

Bachelor’s Degree desired with 2-4 years retail buying experience in either specialty store or department store. Internal candidates must have at least 1-2 years of Associate level Buying experience. Excellent knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint Must have strong communication skills Ability to work as a team member Must be task driven and proactive when it comes to executing tasks Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. Thorough knowledge of retail Math such as gross margin, open to buy calculations, initial markup calculations, turnover etc. Developing the Community/ Leadership Qualities: Operate with the highest level of conduct, integrity, and confidentiality, setting an example for leaders and associates. Develop and nurture strong cross functional partnerships, driving business results and inspiring a culture of transparency, collaboration, and accountability. Serve as a Pacsun advocate in the industry and marketplace. Recruit, identify, develop, and retain talent that delivers performance excellence. As a manager, serve as a leader of company culture, norms, and conduct. Ability to balance a strong management presence with a high level of approachability, encouraging and eliciting associate feedback and interaction.

 

Salary Range: $87,516-$97,900

The associate is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; as well as reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Ability to work in open environment with fluctuating temperatures and standard lighting. Ability to work on computer and mobile phone for multiple hours; with frequent interruptions. Required to travel in elevator or stairwells to attend meetings and engage with associates on multiple floors throughout building. Hotel, Airplane, and Car Travel may be required.

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

 

This is a full-time position. As a National Retailer, occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required during periods of high volume. This role operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.
