An excellent opportunity exists in the Merchandising team for a Buyer’s Assistant. This position involves providing support to the Buyer in the administration, implementation, and promotion of product ranges, liaising closely with suppliers and our store network.
The successful applicant will assist the Buyer in the administration of the category in the achievement of sales, stock turns, margins, and promotional and marketing objectives.
Action EDLP changes in line with Buyer direction
Monitor competitor activity through catalogue and competitor feedback and action necessary EDLP in line with current process
Provide the necessary administrative support needed to ensure that department and product programs are implemented and the prompt processing of advertising material
Communicate to all relevant stakeholders both internal and external, so to promote and foster best practice for implementation of strategic pillars (Range, Price, Service)
A bit about what you will need...
Accuracy and attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication
Proficient with MS word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Strong planning & organisational skills
Broad understanding of merchandising, store operation & sales forecasting
Experience in managing multiple internal and external relationships
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
Marketing/Business qualification would be an advantage
