General Summary

Under limited supervision of the Security Supervisor, using a customer service orientation, provides leadership to security personnel for the safety and security of patients, visitors and staff on the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center.

Qualifications

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.  Possession of Special Police Commission or eligibility to be commissioned by the Maryland State Police is required within 1 year. Must successfully complete an oleoresin capsicum (OC) or Pepper Gel course which includes undergoing a direct exposure to the product within 1 year. Four years of experience in security or law enforcement is required.  Experience in a hospital facility is preferred. Education may be substituted for some experience.  Previous experience in a lead or supervisory role is required. Completion of Non-Violent Crisis Intervention or similar de-escalation program course is required within one year of hire or placement into the position. Completion of a Basic Course Life Support/CPR is required within one year of hire or placement into the position.
