Our customers are facing challenges due to the DER growth. Our employees are working on pioneer topics in very close collaboration with these customers. In the Grid Control segment, we’re mainly working on equipping control centers with a software bundle called Spectrum Power™.
Beyond traditional grid operation, Spectrum Power™ solutions actively help grid operators manage, orchestrate, and optimize their transmission and distribution systems. Over 1,300 Spectrum Power™ systems in operation keep the lights on for hundreds of millions of people around the globe.
We are looking for a passionate candidate to join our team in Brasov, Romania. The position will enable the successful candidate to bring engineering know-how together with software skills and work in a field with enormous impact on the future.
Main Duties: Working in R&D for Grid Control. Responsible for engineering and improving a central subsystem of Spectrum Power 7. Responsible for the development of specific enhancements which can range from improvements to completely new features. In the future: possible development to a technical expert. Language skills: English language – Intermediate level (B2) German language skills are an advantage– Intermediate level (B2) or willingness to learn. Experiences and Education: You have a successfully completed a university degree in computer science or a comparable qualification; C/C++ skills; Git/Gitlab skills; Linux development knowledge; Interest in and/or experience in one or more of the following topics: Java application development; JBoss Application Server development; Linux shell scripting; Interest in software engineering and programming. Personal qualifications: Solid team player with good interpersonal skills and customer focus; Analytical and critical thinking; Business Process oriented; Operational "hands-on" attitude; Independent, proactive, and self-structured work style; Motivated and with the ability to learn and grow with Siemens Grid Control Software.
