About the Role: Imagine yourself as a Lease Operator, responsible for oil and gas well operations, well testing, operating and maintaining field equipment and facilities, and conducting surveillance of general field operations. You will maintain various databases regarding production and operations, troubleshoot equipment and mechanical problems, and ensure all activities are performed employing safe work practices.

Responsibilities: 

Operational Activity: 

Perform oil and gas well operations, including well testing and operation/maintenance of field equipment and facilities. 

Monitor multiple well sites daily by vehicle. 

Conduct non-scheduled callouts outside normal business hours. 

Operate and maintain various types of wells, including flowing, beam pump (with electronic pump-off controller), plunger lift, water injection, and water disposal. 

Operate and maintain production tank batteries, flowlines, LACT (lease automatic custody transfer) facilities, water injection plants, natural gas compression, cathodic protection, and metering devices (electronic gas measurement and others). 

Employ safe work practices while utilizing acceptable environmental procedures to maximize earnings and minimize costs. 

Test, calibrate, and troubleshoot equipment and mechanical problems. 

Perform mandatory paperwork required by customer and regulatory agencies. 

Conduct general housekeeping and field maintenance. 

Competencies: 

Computer knowledge - Proficient utilizing MS Windows environment.

Ability to keep neat and accurate records.

Excellent interpersonal communication skills in a team environment. 

General mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills. 

Ability to identify operational inefficiencies.

Understanding of the importance of environmental and safe work practices. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

3+ years of Lease Operator / Land Production Operator in Oil & Gas production operations with working knowledge/experience of land/onshore. 

Strong computer skills. 

Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently without direct supervision. 

High School Diploma or GED; some college or technical training preferred. 

Valid U.S. Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record. 

Candidate must live within a 30-mile radius of the job site. 

Physical Requirements: 

Must be able to lift 40 lbs., climb ladders, and stairs. 

Walking, bending, and stooping are required. 

Must be able to wear personal protective equipment, including the use of a respirator. 

Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.
