The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues.

 

SPA provides critical decision support to enabling and executing a strategy of technological superiority and enabling the delivery and sustainment of secure, resilient, and preeminent capabilities to the warfighter quickly and cost effectively. Our team of experienced military, technical, and operations research analysts is skilled in evaluating military problems, identifying the driving factors, devising innovative approaches, collecting applicable data, developing necessary software tools, and performing thorough and timely assessments to inform technology and acquisition governance decisions to ensure U.S. military forces retain military superiority in the future.

 

We have an immediate need for a C5OpsNet Technical SETA – Variable Trust Endpoints to provide onsite support at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) in Arlington, VA.

Responsibilities

The DARPA Adaptive Capabiltes Office is seeking experienced Technical SETA candidates to provide onsite support to the Advanced Resilience portfolio in the area of next-generation classified network development for enterprise-scale computing and operational functions. The candidate will provide expert technical advice and guidance to the government on all aspects of enhancing resilience and survivability against sophisticated cyber and physical threats. Support development of secure, variable-trust endpoints using a wide variety of risk-informed inputs and security mechanisms, implemented on computing platforms of many form factors that enable general purpose clients connected to decentralized services across a wide variety of transport types and levels of service. Responsible for coordinating meetings, assessing performer technical progress, projecting performer outcomes, and ensuring that project management best practices are followed by performers. Prepare and deliver technical reports, briefings, and presentations to government officials and technical stakeholders. Apply technical expertise and experience in network engineering of DoD classified networks, notably the design, implementation, operations, and maintenance of enterprise, tactical, or expeditionary communications networks. Evaluate emerging technologies, monitor development of novel solutions, and contribute to the development of resilient classified networks, services, endpoints, and architectures.

 

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field 8+ years of relevant experience in cybersecurity, network development, network security, and/or enterprise systems Firsthand experience with research and/or development of secure platforms, security software for endpoints, and information security software systemsSubstantial experience with decentralized software services across a wide variety of transport types and levels of serviceSubstantial experience with private key encryption, authentication mechanisms, access control mechanisms, and endpoint securityExperience with a wide variety of platform hardware and form factors (commercial-off-the-shelf-systems, Workstations, Servers, fixed, mobile, etc.) Familiarity with variable-trust/variable-security systems and services, concepts of Zero Trust, and continuous integrityExperience with general purpose enterprise services  Familiarity with System Certification and AccreditationActive Top Secret clearanceAble to work fully onsite based on client needs

Desired:
