**Join a team known for elevating careers and soar to new heights as a Cabinet Maker!** **Position Purpose:** The Cabinet Maker I position is an entry-level role focused on the fabrication of aircraft interior furniture. Under direct supervision, the individual will learn and perform basic woodworking skills, using design and engineering drawings to fabricate aircraft cabinets and other wood-surfaced subassemblies. The role offers hands-on training and experience to develop technical skills, with opportunities for advancement to higher levels of proficiency in aircraft cabinetmaking. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities:** + **Skill Development and Learning:** + Learn and develop entry-level technical skills and knowledge related to the fabrication of aircraft cabinets and wood-surfaced subassemblies. + Gain proficiency in understanding regulatory requirements and tooling used in aircraft cabinetmaking. + Progress in technical competency and problem-solving abilities, with the goal of advancing to the technician level over time. + **Fabrication and Assembly:** + Use standard safety and operating procedures, design/engineering drawings, and a variety of materials (laminates, veneers, cap strips) to assist in the preparation and creation of furniture components. + Develop proficiency in the fabrication process, including measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling wood components to meet specifications. + **Material Tracking and Documentation:** + Utilize the material tracking system to create parts demand, track issues or squawks, and sign off completed work. + Ensure accurate documentation of work performed and assist in tracking inventory and parts for future needs. + **Safety and Housekeeping:** + Comply with all company safety policies, 5S (organizational efficiency and cleanliness), and housekeeping guidelines. + Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and ensure that aircraft interiors are protected throughout the fabrication process. + Assist in the development and implementation of safety and efficiency initiatives. + **Other Duties:** + Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or team lead to support the overall success of the cabinet-making team and department. **Other Requirements:** + **Communication Skills:** + Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language to accurately follow instructions, complete work orders, and communicate with team members. + **Physical Requirements:** + Ability to climb ladders and stairs, work in confined or restricted areas, and lift up to 40 pounds as required by tasks. + Ability to work standing for long periods of time and in various positions. + **Computer Skills:** + Must be computer literate with the ability to use basic computer software applications for material tracking, documentation, and communication. + **Shift Flexibility:** + This position is primarily for second shift. May be required to support other shifts as needed with advance notice. **Qualifications:** **Education:** + High School Diploma or GED required. + Woodworking, wood finishing, or auto body & painting experience in a technical environment preferred. + Completion of a Technical Certificate in cabinet making or a youth apprenticeship program in a related field is highly preferred. **Experience:** + Previous experience in woodworking, cabinetmaking, or similar technical work is desirable but not required. + Entry-level position; training and development provided. **Pay Details:** $23.32 per hour Benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan.
