Cable Technician
Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Cable Technician in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. As a Cable Technician, you will be responsible for installing, setting up, and testing various types of equipment, including POS, PC, and networking devices. You will also be responsible for project coordination and ensuring adherence to project timelines and specifications. Responsibilities: • Accurately install and test equipment such as POS, CCTV, PC, and networking devices in new and existing locations. • Conduct thorough tests on equipment to ensure proper communication and functionality. • Carry out wiring, termination, and testing of network infrastructure. • Provide training to store personnel on how to effectively use the installed equipment. • Participate in decision-making processes regarding the placement of equipment to improve customer flow and ease of use for employees. • Travel nationwide to install IT equipment at various locations. • Maintain accurate expense reporting and ensure expenses are within company guidelines. • Undertake other responsibilities and tasks as assigned. Requirements • Proficiency in handling and installing various types of cabling such as CAT5, CAT6, and coaxial cable. • Comprehensive understanding of Fiber Optics, including installation, troubleshooting, and repair. • Demonstrable experience with MSI - Microsoft Installer, particularly in software installation and updates. • Ability to read and understand technical diagrams and manuals. • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure. • Excellent physical condition to handle the demands of the job, including lifting heavy equipment and working at heights. • Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with clients and team members. • Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to different job sites. • Adherence to safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. • Willingness to stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in cable technology. • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed. • High school diploma or equivalent; further technical training or certification in cabling or related field is a plus.
