Cable Technician

Description We are seeking a Cable Technician to join our team in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. In this role, you will be responsible for installation, setup, and testing of various equipment including POS, networking devices, and video surveillance systems. You will also play a crucial role in training end users and coordinating with operations and vendors.
Responsibilities:
• Handle the installation and setup of POS, office PC, and Networking equipment, as well as network infrastructure.
• Ensure the proper functioning and communication of installed equipment.
• Oversee the installation and setup of video surveillance systems.
• Coordinate with operations and vendors for project execution.
• Adhere to timelines and specifications as per project guidelines.
• Maintain accurate expense reporting and manage expenses within company guidelines.
• Conduct testing of network infrastructure after wiring and termination.
• Guide store personnel on the usage of installed equipment.
• Make informed decisions on the placement of equipment considering customer flow and employee convenience.
• Travel to various locations for the installation of IT equipment.
• Perform other assigned duties as needed. Requirements • Proficient in cabling, with the ability to install, repair, and maintain cable lines
• Practical knowledge of fiber optics, including its installation, testing, and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with MSI - Microsoft Installer, with an ability to manage software installation and maintenance
• Proven experience as a Cable Technician or similar role in the telecommunications industry
• Strong understanding of electronic, network, and telecom systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and diagrams
• Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights, when necessary
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and rectify issues
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to work in various weather conditions, as the job may require outdoor work
• Strong customer service orientation
• Availability to work in shifts and possibly during weekends or evenings
• High school diploma or equivalent; further training or certification in telecommunications or a related field is a plus. Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.®
