The CAD Administrator resources are responsible for the deployment, configuration, customization, integration, and support of Hatch’s integrated project engineering software tools (known as DPD). These tools ensure project data quality and consistency expected by Hatch throughout the engagement lifecycle based on the approved procedures and processes outlined in the digital execution strategy.

 

PAT help enforce the requirements for digital project delivery and provide specialist support to create value for stakeholders, while applying a continuous improvement culture to all digital project delivery initiatives within the engagement. 

 

CAD Administrators maintain overall responsibility for:

 

The overall successful implementation and configuration of project deployed engineering software tools. Ensuring alignment among project stakeholders (metadata requirements, procedures and workflows, design tool configuration). Ensuring the design tools eco-system deployed is optimized for performance, work-sharing. Collaborating with other team members, including engineers and designers, to create 3D plant models that accurately reflect the digital execution strategy. Create reports that help facilitate quality checks on the models to ensure that they meet project requirements and are free from errors or inconsistencies. Leadership and resolution on technical and configuration issues and advises stakeholders of potential conflicts to assure consistency throughout the life of the project. Providing training and guidance to new team members on the use of the design tools and best practices for 3D modeling. Assist in handover activities.

 

 

 

 

Key Responsibilities 

For the Project:

 

Analyze project functional requirements at project commencement to define technical configuration changes required to the systems to achieve the project’s goals. Use the project’s functional requirements to define technical requirements; understanding where the project will need to take the system to achieve its goals. Investigate and resolve issues identified by project users, engaging additional specialists where needed. Collect and understand requests for minor changes and major enhancements to the system, point out alternative options where possible. Collaborate with the development team to design and generate custom reports, by understanding the needs, priorities, alternatives necessary to support the project’s objectives.  Assist with the setup of the iPas suite of design tools. Manage technical issues and help users with advanced iPas usage to increase productivity and efficiency. Integration of the 3rd party and other vendors design tools into Hatch’s iPas eco-system. Plan and conduct training of other support staff (admis), discipline Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and users. Ensure all automated process in place that allow data transfer between the design tools to the data visualization and reporting tools (AssetXD, DataShare) are up and running. Documents all changes to the design tools during setup, configuration, and support. Assist in handover activity at the end of the project, automate the handover and conversion process where possible.

 

For the Company:

 

Provide input into the development strategy for iPas enhancements in alignment with the business needs and overall PDG systems strategy. Support continuous improvement in the iPas suite of tools, both on projects and within the DPD team processes Prioritize bugs and enhancements in conjunction with other functional support personnel and Global Discipline representatives. Represent the needs and priorities of the projects during iPas suite functional reviews while working with other functional support personnel to foster global consistency. Collaborate with QA team members to develop and run test scenarios and test cases. Perform functional acceptance testing of bug fixes, minor enhancements and major enhancements and co-ordinates user acceptance testing. Assist with knowledge capture and with the maintenance and update of user, marketing and training materials, manuals, and tutorials. Support business development initiatives.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

 

A recognized degree in Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited College or University. 5-10 years of experience in Information Technology, ideally in an Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Management (EPCM) environment. Excellent knowledge of automation and data modeling, systems and data integration, validation, and verification. Excellent knowledge of SQL Server programming and administration (SQL & MYSQL), with a sound understanding of Databases and Data Structures. Programming Experience: .NET 4.0 and above, VB, C#/C++, PowerShell. Advanced knowledge of Windows OS & networking. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, specifically Excel, Access, Visio and PowerPoint. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills. Superior time management skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision. High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts.

 

Asset:

 

Software development experience Windows Azure servers Knowledge of BIM principles Experience working directly on projects in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment. Expert user in MicroStation and AutoCAD Experience data-centric design tools: Aveva suite, Bentley OpenPlant suite, Hexagon SmartPlant suite, Autodesk suite (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, ACC). Programming Experience: APIs (RESTful APIs and OpenAPI), Power BI, Visual Scripting for MS macros, Python, FORTRAN, HTML5
