As a CAD & BIM Technician in the Facilities Management sector, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate and up to date 2D drawings and 3D models in the operational phase, providing reviews and support in the project delivery and handover stages as required. As the department is transitioning to BIM processes, you will be instrumental in supporting the CAD & BIM Manager in implementation of BIM across the department, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practice, including the alignment with ISO 19650 standards.
In addition you will be expected to support with space planning and production of proposals for BAU projects, as well as collaborating with various stakeholders including Tech and Data, Real Estate, and project and operational teams to deliver high-quality outputs.
Role Description:
Develop and maintain 2D AutoCAD General Arrangement and FF&E drawings of the entire UK estate, reflecting all BAU and project changes. Develop and maintain detailed Revit models of all disciplines (architectural, MEP), incorporating BAU and project updates. Manage workplace metadata in 2D AutoCAD drawings and 3D Revit models, ensuring accuracy and consistency. Generate and distribute required outputs (floor plans, schedules, etc.) to various departments on a daily/weekly basis. Provide space planning and proposals for planned changes, working closely with project teams to meet their requirements. Review and maintain company space naming and numbering policy, ensuring these are consistent across all drawings/models. Execute BIM specific tasks, including model creation, clash detection, data reviews, and 3D render production. Leverage Revit features to develop families, integrate asset information, and optimise BIM workflows. Support the CAD & BIM Manager in implementing BIM standards and processes aligned with ISO 19650 and BS/PAS 1192 Contribute to the effective use of the Common Data Environment (CDE). Manage the CAD/BIM shared mailbox, responding to queries and requests efficiently. Provide cover for the CAD & BIM Manager during absences.Required Skills and Experience:
Proven experience with AutoCAD (2017 or later), Revit (2019 or later), and Navisworks (2019 or later). Strong understanding of ISO 19650/PAS 1192 BIM standards and processes. Practical experience with Common Data Environments (CDE). Familiarity with open standards such as IFC and COBie.Personal Qualities:
