Job Description:

This role will performs a wide range of CAD design assignments in support of the mechanical engineering organization including the editing of models and/or drawing, notes provided by engineering. Assures design documentation complies with the program requirements, organization’s processes and industry standards. Prepares accurate drawings and schematics with proper tolerances, dimensions and instructions, with oversight from senior designers.

Essential Functions: 

Provide CAD support (PTC Creo) throughout the product development processGenerate and/or modify product’s models, drawings and documentationSupport the control of mechanical digital data files and drawingsPrepare and incorporate engineering change ordersInput data and assure hardware structures are acurate in a Product Data Management toolWork under general supervisionCompliance with command media & standardIdentifies problems/issues in CAD design/drawings and provide corrective actionsProficient with 3D CAD tools, specifically PTC Creo ParametricKnowledge of applicable government and industry standards including ASME Y14.5 (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and ASME Y14.100 (Engineering Drawing Practices), and its application techniques

Qualifications:

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experienceActive Secret security clearance requiredExperience with 3D CAD tools, specifically PTC Creo Parametric or SolidWorks equivalentExperience with modeling/drawing application such as PTC Creo Parametric OR Solidworks

Preferred Additional Skills:

Familiarity with applicable government and industry standards including ASME Y14.5 (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and ASME Y14.100 (Engineering Drawing Practices)Strong mechanical aptitude and general understanding of manufacturing and assembly techniquesActive TS/SCI security clearance highly desired
