CAD Designer/Technician

We are seeking passionate individuals to transform and shape the future with game-changing net-zero technology. This opportunity is for a highly motivated and skilled CAD Designer/Technician who will be responsible for developing their technical drawings and rendered images.

The Role:
  
Responsibilities-
Translate design concepts and sketches into 2D and 3D models using computer aided design software (AutoCad, Solidworks) to develop them into technical drawings and visual representations Develop 3D models of vessels and produce photorealistic renderings using SolidWorks Visualize. Modify existing models as needed. Collaborate with AET and NET engineers and naval architects to produce conceptual design drawings, ensuring design accuracy and feasibility, identifying clashes and flagging issues. Create high-quality 2D ship design drawings in AutoCAD, including general arrangements, structural drawings, schematics, and safety plans. Perform quality assurance checks to ensure products meet design and engineering specifications. Participate actively in project work, including creating innovative solutions and presenting them to team leads and other stakeholders. Stay informed about industry drafting standards and techniques and keep up-to-date with developments in software, CAD skills, and related training opportunities. Maintain company records, including the drawing register, filing system, and drawing block library. The Person:

Essential-
Three years or more of direct experience working in ship and offshore infrastructure design projects is required. Proven experience working as a CAD Technician within the marine/offshore industry. A confident user of AutoCad and Solidworks  Familiar with maritime industry Draughting practices and standards. Experience with working in a multi-disciplinary team and contributing to a holistic design objective. Able to articulate technical risks and issues in a clear concise way. Desired-
A Bachelors Degree (qualifications such as BTEC Level 4 Mechanical Engineering will be considered) Experience working on the design team of commercial and/or defence vessels.  Able to provide examples to illustrate experience of rendering and developing technical drawings Experience in ship design concept drawings development This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to lead technically in an emerging market and be part of the revolution in net-zero technologies.
