CAD/GIS Technician
Job Title: CAD/GIS TechnicianJob Description

We are seeking a skilled CAD/GIS Technician to join our team in Indianapolis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both Autodesk and Esri products, as well as familiarity with QGIS. This role involves supporting various civil and infrastructure projects, including roadway, drainage, and utility projects, through precise mapping, drafting, and data analysis. This person will have the ability to work on a variety of interesting projects within a stable portfolio and laid-back environment.

ResponsibilitiesDevelop, edit, and maintain detailed CADD drawings and GIS maps for civil engineering projects, including site plans, roadway alignments, grading, and drainage systems.Prepare, design, and modify drawings and plans in Autodesk Civil 3D, ensuring they meet industry standards and project specifications.Assist in the design of utility networks, including water, sewer, and stormwater systems, utilizing both GIS and CADD tools.Perform civil drafting tasks, including creating profiles, cross-sections, and other detailed drawings related to site grading and infrastructure layouts.Conduct spatial analysis and geoprocessing to support engineering designs and planning decisions.Assist in data collection, conversion, and management to maintain accuracy and consistency in spatial databases.Collaborate with engineers and other team members to ensure designs and specifications are accurately represented in maps and drawings.Troubleshoot and optimize workflows for civil design and drafting processes, ensuring efficiency and adherence to project requirements.Coordinate with project managers and engineers to deliver on project goals and timelines.Essential Skills5+ years of experience in a GIS/CADD technician role with a focus on civil engineering projects.Proficiency with Autodesk products, particularly AutoCAD and Civil 3D, and knowledge of civil drafting standards.Strong knowledge of Esri products (ArcGIS, ArcGIS Pro, etc.).Solid understanding of spatial data principles, geo-referencing, coordinate systems, and civil design workflows.Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to manage multiple projects.Additional Skills & QualificationsFamiliarity with QGIS is a plus.Work Environment

The team is a tight-knit group of professionals working on a variety of transportation, storm water/wastewater, and construction inspection projects throughout the state. The office is a small and casual environment, offering a laid-back atmosphere with a lot of exposure to different responsibilities. The company values a fun environment that is not overly corporate or stuffy. The typical work hours are between 40-50 hours a week with flexible start times between 7AM-9AM.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.45 - $33.65
