EXP’s Infrastructure & Transportation Practice provides comprehensive planning, design and construction engineering services for all types of roadway, bridge, water resource, rail, transit and aviation projects. With a unique multidisciplinary team approach, we have a history of successfully delivering some of the most complex infrastructure projects within the Chicagoland region. We currently are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic CAD Delivery Lead for our Chicago office to help us deliver the CTA’s RLE Design-Build project. You will report to the Civil Department Manager and work in our Chicago office in compliance with our hybrid work policy to help us deliver this exciting and fast paced project.
What a day at EXP has in store for you
Work closely with the project team to develop, implement and monitor CAD design standards and procedures to meet the project requirements. Work with the project team to solve technical issues, provide needed training and oversight and solve other CAD system and quality issues. Identify opportunities and recommendations for increasing workflow efficiencies. Recommend best practices for solutions to meet or exceed r the project requirements. Train and supervise CAD users in core application skills and standards. Maintain documentation records of generated design deliverables. Maintain a positive working relationship with all levels of the organization, outside vendors, clients and key project stakeholders. Ensure project documentation and contracts are in compliance with the standards set forth by the client.
What your experience looks like
Must have at least 7+ years of practical experience Associate's degree in related field preferred Must have a strong understanding of IDOT and CTA CAD workspaces and CAD policies and procedures Must have a strong understanding of Bentley design software (MicroStation, GEOPAK, OpenRoads Designer, and ProjectWise) Experience with 3D CAD development and delivery and rendering capabilities desirable, but not required Must have some MS Office skills Must have strong people skills, and ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment. Must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal Experience in the civil engineering marketplace or construction industry is preferred Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced engineering environment; working under occasionally stress & with tight deadlines; repetitive tasks; combination of sitting, standing, walking; working with others; critical thinking; problem solving; job task planning and organizing; computer use
