This position is responsible for leveraging CAD as an aid to quality design, with a thorough understanding of the integrated use of CAD tools within a roadway design work-flow, a service-oriented demeanor, and a proven desire to learn and promote emerging technology.

Responsibilities Supports various project teams’ utilization of Bentley engineering software from 3D modeling into design and production (ProjectWise; OpenRoads Designer; StormCAD; WaterCAD; ConceptStation; etc.)Develops software templates and resource files based upon client standards for efficient 3D design and modeling of roadways, drainage, and utility design elementsDevelops processes and techniques for rapid 3D visualization of design conceptsProvides regular tech support to project teams through on-line training, webinars and direct supportProvide leadership in project set up and configuration to support efficient work-flowsTest, refine, and create documentation of CAD-based work-flows using latest software and hardware technologySupport and communicate established work-flows to internal staff through 1-on-1 training to team-wide seminar formatsCreate and update CAD training materials, including manuals and videosRespond to requests for over the shoulder support in a timely and effective manner and maintain searchable documentation of support solutionsTroubleshoot design file, workspace, and file management issues as neededMonitor emerging trends and technological capabilities in our industry and develop strategies to incorporate these capabilities where appropriateReview potential program enhancement plugins and extensionsNegotiate vendor contracts and provide long term projections Qualifications 8 years of experience in civil engineering design production using Bentley softwareExperience and expertise with Microstation, and current Bentley software including OpenRoads technology, 3D modeling, ProjectWiseKnowledge of support products including ESRI and Microsoft office productsEffective communication skills, both oral and written, with all levels of employees in an organizationSelf-starter capable of completing tasks with minimal oversightHigh level of accuracy in work productMust be able to work from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed to meet project deadlines
