Kimley-Horn is looking for a CAD Operator to join our Electrical team in Sacramento, CA.
ResponsibilitiesThis individual will primarily be responsible for: designing and producing sets of plans for electrical systems including solar, battery storage, electric vehical charging and building electrical
Participate on project teams in an active production role
Participate in project meetings internally and externally with clients
Preparation of project specifications
Preparation of electrical construction cost estimates
Daily interaction and collaboration on cross-functional teams across multiple disciplines
Coordination and verification of as-built drawings
Perform quality work that promotes client retention
Responsible for the development of reports and design documents, including solar photovoltaic electrical site plans, equipment selection, photovoltaic module string sizing calculations, ampacity calculations and wire sizing
Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (Associates degree preferred)3+ years of design experience in Electrical Engineering specifically in any of the following: Solar PV design, Battery Energy Storage, or Energy ModelingAdvanced knowledge and proficiency in AutoCADUnderstanding of the National Electrical Code, other NFPA codes/standards, energy codesPrevious experience with solar production modeling is a plusPrevious experience with electrical solar photovoltaic design or battery storage is a plusPassion for renewablesBuilding Information Modeling (BIM – Autodesk Revit) experience is a plusElectrical power, lighting, and fire alarm design experienceSuperior verbal and written communication skillsThe ability to work independently or in a team environment effectivelyThe ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environmentDetail oriented, professional attitude, good communication, team player, self-starterStrong work ethic, interpersonal communication/writing skills and desire to learnSalary Range:
$60,000 - $80,000
