Job Summary:

CAD Operator-2 is an intermediate-level CAD position. This position creates CAD  deliverables, and completes other duties as assigned. This is accomplished utilizing Project Manager & Plant direction, field data, and legacy information.

Location:       Decatur, Illinois

Job Duties:Projects are assigned by the CAD Department ManagerProject tasks are carried out under the direction of the Project Manager, Registered Design Professional in Responsible Charge (RDP), and Project EngineerCAD Department Manager, and Lead CAD Operators will provide coaching and directionDevelop CAD deliverables and ensure that they are complete, and accurate; The deliverables include but are not limited to; 2D Drawings, 3D models, 3D detail models, 3D model extractions, PID & PFD’s, and any other CAD technologyRead and interpret design drawingsCoordinate construction documents with client, when requestedReview constructability and feasibility of construction detailsReview shop drawings for constructability and compliance with design documentsAssist with field surveying and information gatheringDevelop skills for utilization of surveying equipmentDevelopment of CAD standards and CAD templatesResponsible for accurate and timely Project file management (CAD files, Vendor files, Emails, etc.) and dissemination of project informationCoordinate design work with other disciplines (i.e. mechanical, piping, and electrical) through proper use of reference filesClient Contact:None required; Limited if requested by Project Manager Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required: Working knowledge in Autocad “Microstation” and “Microstation Structural Modeler” CAD or equivalent CAD applicationsProficient in 2D drafting and 3D modeling techniquesAdvises and coordinates with CAD Manager regarding the best method for accomplishing project assignment; utilizes office standards and concepts to develop final working drawingsUtilize office templates and standardsPatient, organized, and thoroughOriginal and creative ideasProvide meaningful feedback to project teams, and CAD Manager to help the CAD team improve performance  Not satisfied with status quo; continually strives to find new and better solutions to CAD drafting and modeling challengesTeamwork:Positive, can-do attitude, regardless of the circumstancesAlways pitches in, gives best effort, sticks up for team members, and shares the gloryValue and respect diversity of skills and perspectives and ensure everyone plays a part in achieving successDevelop strong working relationships with a high level of communication within the CAD teamEducation:Associates degree or Diploma from a recognized technical school in Microstation, AutoCAD, or equivalent professional work experienceExperience:Normally has 3 to 5 years CAD experience in AutoCAD or Microstation
