SUMMARY

The CAD Specialist provides support to various teams to meet project deliverables, supports transition of new accounts and provides reporting and analysis.  Areas of responsibility include creation and maintenance of drawings (architectural, structural, electrical and mechanical) and support of CAFM tool for client base.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential ability to layout and generate a complete set of working drawings. Candidate should have years of experience working with mechanical & electrical drawings Maintain and update drawings as required Knowledge and experience working with basic contract admin (Issuing addendums, change orders, etc.) Ability to estimate project hours required to aid in proposal generation Delegate and manage CAD work to team members Coordinate and manage CAD work to outsourced parties when needed CAD Specialist to seek and implement continuous improvement opportunities that improve efficiency, benefit clients and other team members; keep abreast of technology changes and training requirements related to the role Work to meet project commitments related to time constraints and produce quality deliverables. Ability to deal with dynamic schedules and adapt to design changes. Follow and enhance existing company standards. Site experience and ability to perform site take-offs is considered an asset. MINIMUM EDUCATION: Community college diploma or equivalent training (e.g. RPA, CET)

JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE: Minimum three-five years

Knowledge & Skills

Proficiency with AutoCAD Strong comprehension of industry standards, details and specifications Strong background with mechanical and electrical systems Proficient in use of e-mail, MS Office applications Effective interpersonal skills, especially communication (verbal / written) Strong planning and organization skills Effective analytical and problem-solving skills Knowledge of project management principles Ability to work with CAFM Knowledge with AutoCAD lisps, Revit, Navisworks is considered an asset Ability to do load calculations is considered an asset
