Who You Are:
Versar Global Solutions is seeking a CAD Specialist for our Environmental & Sustainable Infrastructure Business Area. This position will report directly to the Digital Transformation and Geospatial Service Line Leader to support internal data workflows and services, provide data capture and data development support, as well as drafting and modeling support, to sustain and advance our spatial data initiatives across multiple service lines including natural resources, remediation, engineering, and asset management. Primary work location is flexible with office, hybrid, or telework options.
The ideal candidate will have the knowledge and experience of computer aided design concepts and applications used to create topological and geospatially accurate data, incorporate industry standards to workflows and products. Tasks will include but not be limited to supporting data development and visualization objectives using 2D and 3D and CAD data creation, data conversion, and data optimization and interoperability. The candidate will also need to demonstrate the ability to create products that allow for data and information to be disseminated and visualized using both proprietary and non-proprietary open-source software solutions.
What You’ll Do:
Adhere to company and/or client CAD/GIS Standards.Assist researching design specifications.Travel up to 25% to support field data collection/oversight teams in CONUS/OCONUS locations.Extracting data from GNSS/Total Station Surveys, Airborne Photogrammetry/LiDAR missions, and Terrestrial 3D Scanning datasets to create terrain surfaces, plan metrics, annotations, and 3D models.Prepare Survey, Civil Engineering, and Conceptual Plans, Exhibits, Maps and Renderings.Developing plan sets utilizing sheet managers with multiple different plot styles and attribute fields.Create and manage surfaces, alignments, profiles, corridor, assemblies, feature lines, grading objects, and pipe networks for both existing and proposed design.Assist in grading design and preparing earthwork cut/fill analysis.Assist in the maintenance/creation of company CAD standards.Assist in the development of 3D renderings from existing conditions to conceptual designs.What You’ll Bring:
Required Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalency (GED) with a minimum 2 years of Land Surveying experience doing primarily topographic surveys utilizing GNSS/Total Stations and a minimum 4 years of Civil Design experience utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D.Valid Driver's License and must be capable to obtain FAA Part 107 Certification.Must be capable and willing to travel CONUS/OCONUS for project work.Candidate must have proven drafting presentation skills and must be proficient in Civil 3D.Ensure accuracy and completeness of all work assignments while maintaining organized files and documents of all data.Knowledgeable in spatial coordinate/reference systems and metric/imperial units, aerial imagery, point clouds, and digital elevation models.A self-starter possessing strong communication skills, planning and organizational skills, and is adaptable.Should be accustomed to completing work with limited supervision, on budget, within expected timeframes, and be comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary team environment or independently.Must be proficient in English, both written and verbal, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.Successful results of preemployment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen.Comply with company drug and alcohol policy.Be authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidate’s start date.Preferred Qualifications
BS/BA in geomatics, land surveying, geographic information systems, information technologies, engineering, or a closely related field.Familiarity with Rhino3D, Blender, ESRI ArcGIS Online, Global Mapper, OpenRoads Designer, CloudCompare, Trimble Business Center, iTwin Capture Modeler, Adobe software, Recap, and/or Revit.Compensation
Expected Salary: $80,000 - $85,000 per year
