CAD Technician
Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a full-time position available for a highly motivated Civil 3D CAD Technician to join our collaborative and innovative Aviation Planning team in our Chicago office. Responsibilities will include supporting the production of technical graphics, maps, and visual information for planning, engineering, and other relevant projects. This position will collaborate closely with energetic team members to help develop clear and concise materials that communicate various project and design components. Experience in Civil 3D CAD (Autodesk) is essential. The position will require management and analysis of datasets, and producing graphics that communicate this data. The position will also require coordination with third party survey data to support projects and material being produced in Civil 3D CAD. The candidate will continue to stay current on the latest Civil 3D CAD technologies, tools, and methodologies relevant to the position; effectively communicating this to peers within the organization. This position offers the potential for growth within the organization, and opportunities for client interaction and representation at industry events. This position may require work to be performed on-site at a project site. Some travel may be required. The successful candidate will have an associate or bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and 2 years of relevant professional experience ; OR, if no degree, must have at least 3 years of relevant professional experience. Proficiency in Civil 3D CAD software is required. The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following: Strong initiative and a positive attitude Critical thinking and problem-solving skills Organization and being task-oriented, with attention to detail and follow through Ability to work effectively with peers to resolve issues and implement change Proficiency in cartographic principles, map design, and visualization techniques Experience collecting and managing geospatial data Demonstration of computer-based skills: Microsoft Suite (Windows, Outlook, Excel), and other organizational software.
