**JOB SUMMARY**
Provides CAD support to a team of engineers working on civil site development projects for Georgia Power Transmission. Supports plan production for electric substation and transmission line projects, typically including components of grading and drainage, stormwater management, erosion control, etc. Aids in the development and maintenance of Civil 3D templates and standards for civil site development projects.
The position will be filled at CAD Technician I (Level NE4), CAD Technician II (Level NE5), or CAD Technician III (Level NE6) based on work experience, skills, and education.
**The position is located at the Georgia Power Corporate Headquarters in Atlanta, GA with an** **_in-office requirement three days a week._** **— Remote work two days a week is an option, provided the individual has reliable internet access.**
**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ At the direction of a civil engineer, assist in the production of civil sitework design packages for the construction of electric substations, transmission lines, corporate facilities, and other projects across the Georgia Power system. These design packages typically include grading and drainage, stormwater, erosion and sediment control, etc.
+ Assist in the development and maintenance of Civil 3D templates and workflows to produce civil engineering deliverables.
+ Read and interpret deeds, plats, and other property records information.
+ Interpret topographical and boundary survey data. Prepare this data for use in civil engineering design activities.
+ Provide general Civil 3D support to the mapping and civil engineering efforts of the department.
**JOB REQUIREMENTS**
Education/Certification
+ High School diploma is required.
+ Technical degree in civil engineering drafting or similar is a plus.
+ Certification and/or training in Civil 3D or other civil drafting software is a plus
+ Strong organizational and time management skills.
Experience
+ **Minimum 1 year of experience using computer-aided drafting and/or design related to land surveying and/or civil engineering.**
+ **Proficient in the use of AutoCAD or comparable mapping/drafting software.**
+ Experience performing civil engineering drafting in Civil 3D is strongly preferred
+ Experience in land surveying or working with survey data is a plus
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
+ Strong general computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft tools (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, etc.)
+ Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and its use on civil engineering/site development projects.
+ Ability to read and understand surveying and property documents and drawings. Ability to utilize such documents as inputs for civil site design activities in Civil 3D.
+ Working knowledge of GIS tools
+ Demonstrated ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks at once.
+ Strong interpersonal, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability and willingness to hold oneself, peers, and external partners accountable to schedule and quality expectations.

**This position has been identified as a role that will require the use of a Georgia Power fleet vehicle. The following will be required if you are selected for this position:**
+ **Must have at least one year of verifiable driving experience (Must hold a valid driver’s license for the class vehicle to be operated. Driving permits are not typically considered a valid driver’s license).**
+ **Must have no revocation of driving privileges within the 36 months prior to application, no convictions of major traffic violations (DUI, hit and run, reckless driving, etc.) within the 12 months prior to application, or any pending charges for a major traffic violation at the time of application.**
+ **Must consent to a continuous monitoring of your Motor Vehicle Record**
