About Ameren Transmission

Ameren Transmission is dedicated to planning, constructing and safely operating over 8,000 transmission miles across a variety of energy markets. We explore opportunities and develop projects that will enhance reliability, improve system performance and increase access to more diverse generation sources for customers across the country.

Spring/Summer temporary CAD Technician opportunity. 

Under direct supervision, to perform detail Transmission drafting work to create, update and maintain identified drawings; and to do other related drafting work as assigned.  In this connection to perform details of work, such as: 

Draw, update and maintain transmission substation and line drawings, electrical, civil, structural, building and other diagrams associated with transmission design, with computer or, when necessary, by hand.  

Change drawings to match marked prints or verbal instructions.  

Create, maintain and prepare special posters, signs, charts, maps or reports when requested.  

Assist in taking field measurements or sketches at the site to resolve discrepancies on drawings or maps, and/or obtain additional information.  

Maintain and update information in the electronic drawing management system. 

 WORKING CONDITIONS: 

Primarily in an office environment, however when on field trips or assigned to a special on-site project they may be subject to the usual conditions existing in switchyards, substations or other buildings, and subject to outdoor weather conditions.  When in the field the employee must wear personal protective equipment as required. 

 QUALIFICATIONS: 

A current student pursuing a degree in Design Drafting, Computer Aided Drafting, or other drafting technology from an accredited university. A 2.5 GPA is required, and a 3.0 or higher is preferred
