CADD Designer
Overview Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a CADD Designer to assist on a variety of public and private sector infrastructure projects in our Miami, FL office! Colliers Engineering & Design offers aspiring engineers the opportunity to work on a very diverse range of bridge and infrastructure projects, often complex in nature for a wide spectrum of clients. The work setting is highly collaborative with structured mentoring from a team of seasoned engineers. Responsibilities + Prepare technical drawings for bridge design projects using a keen understanding of geometry and structure components along with direction provided by structural team members. + Works from sketches, computer models and verbal information supplied by an engineer or designer to determine the most appropriate views, detail drawings, and supplementary + Work from detailed sketches to produce computer-generated plans, profiles and section drawings. + Conform to the company’s standard CAD procedures for layering, etc., and standard drawing procedures for sheet layout. + Work with numerous project teams to help in project completion. + Coordinate details and dimensions between drawing sheets. + Address assignments of increased difficulty as proficiency is increased. + Understands multiple reference/model files to prepare specific bridge plan drawings, sections and details. + Uses knowledge of tools and drafting to complete assigned tasks including model development, completing design changes, general arrangement drawing production, plotting, and drafting using CADD platforms. + Plan checking for conformance to standards. Qualifications + Education: High School Diploma/Equivalent; Associate’s Degree or a Certificate from a technical school. + 3-5+ years of related experience. + Proficiency in MicroStation. + Proficiency in MicroStation Connect Edition and V8i Select Series a plus. + Knowledge of Open Bridge Modeler (OBM) a plus. + Knowledge of FDOT CADD Practices a plus. Other DOT experience acceptable. + Proficiency in AutoCAD a plus. + Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
