The Opportunity

Our location in Columbus, OH currently has an opportunity for a Cafe' Cook.

This position is responsible for general food service work involving varied tasks including preparing food for all stations, specials and other food stations. Responsible for sanitation and food safety in designated food station. Assist Café management with food production, catering and other designated projects and events.

Maintain a high level of quality and integrity of food confidence with customersProvide outstanding customer serviceAssist Chef with food ordering for the designated stationsMaintain food ordering sheet with needed food requests to ensure that product is on handAssist in putting away stockOpen kitchen and turn on equipment as requiredMaintain sanitation of station, sanitation certificationDeliver catering ordersReceive Catering Orders in DetailCommunicate needs to Café Staff accurately and timelyInput orders in Catering Software and track efficientlyTrain for the ability to fill in at all other Café Stations as neededAbility to follow a recipe to Chef’s/Team specificationAssist Chef in Kitchen preparationMaintain a high level of quality and integrity of Food Confidence with CustomersAbility to work in a computer based Catering, recipe & inventory program, by inputting catering requests, recipes and invoices.Assist Chef in Kitchen in the proper practice of Preparation & Sanitation TechniquesPartner with cross-functional stakeholdersLift 50 poundsWork a flexible schedule as required by catering needsAssist with other Café duties and stations as required

Required Qualifications

High School DiplomaMinimum 2 years’ experience in a kitchen environmentStrong customer service skillsStrong verbal communication skillsMust be knowledgeable about the preparation and production of grill foods and hot sandwichesAbility to prepare quality food in a fast-paced working environmentAbility to be flexible and handle several tasks at onceAbility to follow directionsCustomer interaction skills a mustCustomer Service ExperiencePrior Kitchen Experience of 2-3 years, High volume would be preferredPrior experience in banquet service a plusFlexibility of working different StationsQuick learning agilityCulinary Arts Degree Preferred

The base pay for this position is $15.90 – $30.45 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
