Summary
Mission Technologies a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries is looking for a qualified individual to fill the role of a Fielding Engineer in Orlando, FL supporting the Combat Air Forces Distributed Mission Operations (CAF DMO) Program. This role performs hardware and software planning, coordination, installation, testing support, integration support, and documentation development support. Individual also prepares and coordinates physical configuration audits in conjunction with the Configuration Manager. Process document changes to networks and assists in updating drawings. Applies information assurance and security regulations and policies to network installations.
This role is NOT eligible for remote or hybrid work and is executed on-site.
What you will doConducts technical analysis of product implementations, modifications and enhancements to product in accordance with specific customer specifications and implementations. Troubleshoots technical problems and issues, determines technical solution in accordance with product and customer specifications, and recommends actions to company or customer representatives for coordinative product solution. Assesses product needs in accordance with customer specifications. Conducts technical training and product briefing with customers, vendors and company representatives. Acts as local on-site representative to customer's organization.
Duties include but are not limited to:
To be successful in this role, you'll be able to rapidly adapt and learn how to operate the front and back end of CAF DMO products and processes. Perform as mid-level contributor with knowledge and experience in local and wide area networking, communications, and related software/hardware within a secure, multi-platform operating environment. Provide support to a large and diverse customer base as a member of a complex team comprised of contractors and government personnel. Assist with integration of network and hardware infrastructure, including the planning, design, installation, maintenance, and management of LAN/WAN classified and unclassified DoD networks. Assist with identification of equipment in the CAF DMO network. All aspects of site kit assembly, configuration, testing, coordination, and preparation for shipment. Prepare and execute hardware deployment and site installation plans. On-site support to the testing/integration team on the DTCN, UCN, and IAN networks and equipment to include servers, Cisco switches/routers and firewalls, cabling, power supplies, COMSEC equipment, VOIP telephones, and other associated network equipment. Perform installation, maintenance, and/or decommissioning of the following devices: KG-175 TACLANE encryption devices; Cisco routers; switches; VoIP phones and VTC devices; rack infrastructure; servers; UPS; and, workstation computers, and all associated desktop peripherals. Install, label, and organize interior STP CAT5/6 copper, fiber, and AV cabling. Review mission scope-of-work requirements and technical design packages. Coordinate with customer project managers, administrative and technical program support staff, and customers. Update and complete documentation and post installation close-out operations. Perform site surveys to assess and document current and proposed site network configuration and architecture based on mission requirements, specifications, and customer needs for locations worldwide. Assist with updates to technical information in technical drawings and technical data packages. Create diagrams as needed for planning and documentation purposes. What you must have 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience. DoD 8570 Certified Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II baseline certification (CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP) Experience with basic network configuration. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently. Familiar and capable of configuring, networking, and installing of software on computers and laptops. Ability to travel up to 50%, Occasional multi-day OCONUS travel may be required, and must have a valid US Passport. Must be a US citizen, currently hold and able to maintain a Secret Security Clearance. Preferred Requirements Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Previous experience as a hardware fielding engineer on a DoD program. Familiarity with Cameo, CAD and/Visio Physical Requirements May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment.
