Overview

The Richardson School is now accepting applications for a Cafeteria Worker position! The Cafeteria Worker manages and performs operations of the food program; including snack planning and lunch preparation, food serving, hygiene, and clean up adhering to public health regulations for food storage and preparation. All food is cooked at an off-site location. This position is only responsible for serving the main course and providing/prepping the salad bar for staff and students.

 

The Richardson School provides a year-round school option for local districts to access for children with special needs. Typically, these children have been dually diagnosed with developmental or neurological disabilities and emotional, behavioral or mental health disorders.

Part time/1st shift-9am-1pm or 10am-2pmPay rate: $16.25/hr.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Cafeteria Worker, you will:

Coordinate food preparation and meal service for students and staff.Applicant must be able to travel to and from grocery stores with reliable transportation. Assists in the inspection and accounting of food delivery orders, notifies Day School Director of discrepancies and other issues, appropriately stores food and supplies, accurately dating and rotating stock as necessary, monitors food temperatures of both hot and cold items throughout food preparation and service, ensuring that food remains at safe temperatures.Maintains cleanliness of kitchen, cafeteria, food preparation areas and equipment according to the State Board of Health standards including cleaning/sanitizing equipment, utensils, food preparation tools and dishes and others identified. Wipes down all prep tables and counters using appropriate cleaning supplies.Prepares special meals as needed for picnics, holidays, parties, and off-grounds activities. Plans and prioritizes work time to ensure special event needs are met without hindering school lunch service.Remains current with latest school information and developments, attends and actively participates in required meetings, complies with company’s mission statement, expectations outlined in company handbook, TRS policies and procedures, and vehicle operations manual/student transport guidelines. Maintains confidentiality of students and staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma or equivalent preferred.Must be minimum of 18 years of age to operate food preparation equipment.Minimum of one year of experience in food preparation.Must have (or complete within first month on the job) and maintain active certification in safe food handling identified by the company.Demonstrated skill in preparation and cooking a variety of foods in large quantities.
