Cage Supervisor

Position Summary

Supervises and leads the work of assigned personnel in the Cage/Vault operations under limited supervision. Performs the drop and reimbursement of the Ticket Redemption Kiosk and Cash Dispensers. Resolves any Cage Cashier or Kiosk related customer service disputes. Verifies all customer transactions at $5,000 and above. Creates all Slot Manual transactions and approves W2-g payouts.

 Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Must be proficient and can perform all Banker Duties. Ensures each Cage/Vault Team Member provides fast, friendly, timely and courteous service to all customers. Scheduling and directing the work of the Cage/Vault staff. Ensuring strict adherence to policies, procedures and Internal Controls. Ensuring a high quality of external and internal customer service.  Ensuring that assigned staff complies with Title 31 and W2-G procedures. Monitoring vault activities and functioning of Cage/Vault Cage Cashiers and Cage and Vault Bankers as necessary. Performs the drops and fills and maintains the Ticket Redemption Kiosks. Performs the drops and fills on the Cash Dispensers. Verifies and maintains the inventory of Promotional Chips when running cage. Resolves any customer related Kiosk issues. Creates all manual Slot transactions and Dispute pays with dual authorization with the Slot Department. Approves W2-G payouts of Slot Jackpots over $10,000. Declines Slot tickets when necessary. Ensuring proper customer transactions, including cash/chip exchange and payouts of $10,000 and above. Trains all new Cage/Vault Team Members in all Cage Internal Controls, policies and procedures. Investigates and resolves Cage Cashier and Banker variances. Maintains an adequate inventory of operating supplies and orders as necessary. Communicates effectively with casino staff. Ensuring proper opening and closing of Cages and Vault as necessary. Maintains logs for key control box. Responsible for disciplinary action and retraining of Cage/Vault Cage Cashiers concerning exception reports and notices of Non-Compliance. Performing additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned. Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility for all team members and are expected to report to work based upon the assigned schedule each day in accordance with the Attendance Policy for Pueblo of Sandia. 

 Additional Responsibilities

Provides immediate supervision to front line Team Members. Sets business parameters and delegates day-to-day tasks to achieve operational objectives.  Provides guidance, training, counseling, recognition, and ongoing feedback, primarily to non-exempt staff members.  Delegates and assigns duties to the reporting staff in a clear and concise manner and set expectations for performance excellence. May support management in the completion of administrative responsibilities.  Maintains a positive attitude and outlook and encourages the team to gain support and create a positive morale. Creates an environment of teamwork, by communicating common goals, and showing appreciation for Team Members contributions and on-going support. Demonstrates relevant experience in the industry or field, often including previous roles in leadership or supervisory positions.

 Key Performance Indicators

This position has Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) identified as a measurement of success.  KPI’s will be shared with all team members who work in this job title and feedback will be provided regarding the successful completion of the KPI’s as part of the performance review process.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Ability to deal effectively with the general public and casino staff. Ability to use cage equipment: 10 Key calculator, money sorters and counters. Ability to receive and verify large amounts of money/chips. Ability to complete moderately complex arithmetic calculations. Ability to pass cashier’s test. Ability to work odd and unusual hours, including weekends and overtime. Ability to work under high pressure and stress conditions. Ability to exhibit a strong motivational commitment to the organization. Ability to speak accurately and clearly in public. Ability to maintain accurate records. Ability to operate a personal computer. Knowledge of basic accounting methods, policies and procedures. Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position. Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.

   Education And Experience  

Required

High school diploma or GED Certification Two (2) years casino cage experience. Supervisory experience preferred or Transition to Management class. Must be at least 21 years of age.

Note:  Relevant work experience or education may be substituted to satisfy education and/or work experience. 

License/Certifications/Registrations

Must be able to obtain and maintain the required STGC Gaming License Will require a pre-employment and random drug screening.

Work is performed indoors. Duties may involve walking, standing for long periods of time, sitting and crouching. Subject to hazards which may cause personal bodily harm including but not limited to: smoke, common colds, influenza, dust, odors, elevated noise levels and near significant crowds of customers. Specific required movements include the following: Trunk-bend, twist, rotate, push, pull, and carry Arms-reach, carry, push, pull, lift, twist, and rotate Legs-lift, push, pull, twist, and rotate Hands-grasp, manipulate, bilateral coordination, eye and hand coordination, overall and finger dexterity. Must be able to lift trays and bags weighing up to 50 pounds.
