CAH-AIU Nurse Manager - Full-time-Day Shift-Req-8630 Payscale: $52.09-$69.02* In this dynamic role, you will be responsible and accountable for providing clinical and administrative leadership. The Nurse Manager obtains and allocates available resources to assure efficient, effective, and safe patient care, based on current standards of practice. The Nurse Manager is accountable for facilitating a collegial relationship between nurses, physicians, and other healthcare providers and for promoting service delivery which results in patient and family satisfaction. The Nurse Manager collaborates with other members of leadership to create an environment that promotes excellence in clinical practice. This includes contributing to the development of goals, procedures and standards of care, and opportunities for professional growth and development. Duties/Responsibilities: + Assists in interpreting hospital policy and state law related to the nursing service. Also assists in evaluating and formulating policies, procedures, decisions, and solutions related to the nursing service. Participates in hospital safety procedures and programs. + Evaluates and recommends changes in nursing service records. + Informs the Director of Nursing Services of nursing needs, problems, and unusual events. + Recommends the purchase of supplies and equipment required for the nursing service. + Evaluates and reviews employees performance against written standards for each position. + Makes routine nursing service checks on staff, timecards, equipment, materials, supplies, etc. + Makes recommendations to the Director of Nursing Services to hire, promote, suspend, and terminate nursing service employees. + Maintains and assists in orientation programs for new employees. + Assists in supervising in-service education programs and follows up to evaluate effectiveness and to determine the need for revision of methods and materials. + Investigates and reports complaints. Required Skills/Abilities: + Demonstrates a high level of nursing skill and leadership ability. + Good communication skills. + Understanding of hospital policy. Education and Experience: + Registered nurse (RN) required. BSN preferred. + A minimum of two years of experience in nursing. Supervisory experience preferred. *The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
