North Star Pediatrics – Receptionist – Full Time-Mid Shift- 12p-8:30p alternating Saturdays 8:30a-3:30p -  Req 8262

Pay Range: $18.94-$23.60*

This position will split time between our pediatric office and pediatric urgent care.

Job Summary:

Schedules appointments, answers telephone and prioritizes and relays messages as appropriate. Registers patients, distributes Bill of Rights, consents, in-services information, and routine instruction, coordinates referrals, and assist patients with filling out forms, etc. Transports, sorts, opens and distributes documents from holding tanks. Maintains accurate medical records and billing information. Assist with covering lunches and staffing needs, assist with other duties as needed medical records rescheduling appointments as needed.  Complies with established policies and procedures. Keeps necessary logs and forwards complaints and/or incidents immediately to supervisor. Performs all other duties and responsibilities as necessary.

Communicate effectively to QMP and Nursing staff

Customer service skills

EMR and basic computer skills

Multi-tasking

 

Experience:

6 months to 1 year of relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience in the medical secretarial field desirable.

Possession of strong organizational skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills required.

Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

Ability to maintain confidentiality a must

Physical Demands:

Ability to sit for long periods of time between breaks and rest periods

Ability to use hands/fingers for typing/writing while performing job duties in between breaks and rest periods

Noise/patients/children can be loud sometimes (situational)
