The Promoter supports the Caine College of the Arts (CCA) Marketing Director by implementing marketing strategies in the promotion of college events and initiatives. This role is responsible for designing and executing promotional campaigns from inception to completion, serving as the primary point of contact for event organizers. The Promoter collaborates with the CCA Marcom Project Coordinator to align efforts across the entire CCA Marcom team, ensuring cohesive and effective outreach.
Responsibilities1. Designs promotional campaigns using marketing data and organizer input, proactively identifying event and initiative goals.
2. Serves as the liaison between event organizers (including CCA faculty and staff) and the CCA Marcom team to execute campaigns, coordinating artistic design, marketing efforts, ad spend, and promotional placements.
3. Organizes and delegates work among graphic design student workers, marketing interns, and communications employees and interns.
4. Aligns promotional efforts with overall marketing strategy and direction in collaboration with the CCA Marketing Director.
5. Acts as the primary account representative for each campaign, providing event organizers with status updates, design options, and standardized execution plans.
6. Collects and analyzes marketing data to refine promotional strategies and improve future campaigns.
7. Prepares campaign performance assessments for event organizers, including insights for future promotions.
8. Collaborates with the CCA Marketing Director to enhance promotional processes, college branding, and public engagement.
9. Manages promotional budgets, financial tracking, and payment processing for ad spends and campaign costs.
10. Handles client feedback professionally, escalating critical issues to the CCA Marketing Director as needed.
11. Assists in training marketing interns on promotional standards and current processes.
12. Performs other duties as assigned.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
1. A bachelor’s degree in marketing, a related field, or an equivalent combination of structured training and experience.
2. Experience in marketing or promotion within the arts, or a strong knowledge of the arts.
3. Ability to work as part of a highly motivated team in a fast-paced environment, analyze situations, and respond appropriately with minimal supervision.
4. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, concise, and accurate verbal and written instructions.
5. Strong organizational and planning skills.
6. Proven ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with faculty, students, staff, volunteers, patrons, and other CCA constituents.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience working with faculty, particularly in the arts or at Utah State University.
2. Experience using project tracking software.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Moderate understanding of marketing and communication strategy, promotional planning, and campaign management.
2. Basic knowledge of graphic design, data analysis, and financial tracking.
3. Strong skills in spreadsheet management, information logging, and data organization.
4. Knowledge of promotional campaign design, including essential strategic direction.
5. Ability to communicate directions and suggestions clearly and effectively.
6. Strong attention to detail.
7. Ability to track and manage multiple project components, delegate tasks, and coordinate with a project manager for ongoing maintenance.
8. Capability to balance multiple assignments simultaneously, meet deadlines, and ensure project progression when opportunities permit.
