“A Day in the Life”

The Calibration Lab Supervisor has direct supervision over assigned lab employees and is responsible for their day-to-day production and quality goals.  The Lab Supervisor will act as the liaison for day-to-day operations in the manager’s absence.  This position is a critical part of the process to get test equipment to the customer when they need it and ready to operate. This is a working supervisory position.

“What You’ll Do”

Coach, Mentor and Train assigned lab techs.Manage the day-to-day performance of direct reports in accordance with established production and quality standards.Advise the lab manager of issues with Personnel, products, equipment and procedures.Incorporate continuous improvement, maximizing customer satisfaction and Lean principles into all aspects of planning, decision making and executionComplete calibration, functional test, configuration, troubleshooting and/or repair including to the component level of electronic test equipment.Follow IAW provided procedures, company standards and/or customer requirements for inbound or returned equipment and outbound equipment orders.Makes external repair recommendations for equipment to Management.Assist internal and external customers with technical issues.Lead or assist other technicians with complex problems and priority of work.Maintain a clean and orderly lab area.Work on assigned projects with minimal supervision making decisions within established guidelines and policies.

 

“Must Haves”

Ability to effectively collaborate with other supervisors, employees, other departments and internal and external customers. Ability to Coach, Mentor and Train assigned TechsKnowledge in the theory of operation, application, calibration and maintenance of electronic products.In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 17025, ANSI/NCSL Z540-1-1994 and ANSI/NCSLI Z540.3-2006 Technical expert in area of focus; also has working knowledge of other functional areas in the lab.Proficient with Windows PC and productivity softwareInherently customer-centric  Previous supervisory experienceHigh School diploma and Associate of Applied Science or equivalent experience in an electronics calibration environmentMilitary PMEL training a plus 

 

Special Considerations:

May be required to be on callMay require a small amount of overnight travel in support of company businessGeneral warehouse and laboratory environmentLifting, pushing, pulling and carrying up to 45 poundsLong periods of standing or sittingWorks a second shift schedule

The working hours for this role are from 11:00AM to 7:30PM M-F, which includes10% shift differential pay.


The specific pay rate and level, if applicable, will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications, prior experience and location.
