Job Description

The Calibration Technician must have hands-on experience performing preventative/corrective maintenance and calibrations in a complex GMP commercial environment. Proper calibration and maintenance of utilities, process equipment, and instruments are critical to data accuracy required in GMP pharmaceutical operations. Some work will be performed in cleanrooms, and the candidate must be familiar with a broad range of processes, including troubleshooting, corrective maintenance, and calibration. This is a hands-on position requiring the use of various calibration standards, including temperature, relative humidity, CO2, speed time, pressure, and weight. The successful candidate will have a strong GMP mindset consistent with commercial GMP requirements.

ResponsibilitiesProvide calibration support, including routine and unscheduled calibrations. Some calibrations will be performed in a cleanroom and require full gowning.Adjust and align equipment and instruments to maintain functionality and accuracy utilizing SOPs, calibration work instructions, equipment manuals, and manufacturer procedures.Analyze raw test data accurately to reach sound conclusions. Critically analyze problems and identify innovative and compliant solutions.Coordinate third-party calibrations and preventive maintenance, including those performed on complex cell therapy equipment in a cleanroom environment, including incubators, GRex Bioreactors, and Sepax.Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on utility, manufacturing, and laboratory equipment such as freezers, refrigerators, and incubators.Provide after-hours emergency response on a rotational basis.Essential SkillsCalibrationProcess improvementProcess engineeringTest equipmentProductionTroubleshootingGMPAdditional Skills & QualificationsBachelor of Science degree in a Life Science discipline or Engineering2+ years of hands-on calibration/maintenance experience on a broad range of equipment in a GMP cleanroom manufacturing environmentSolid analytical and critical thinking skills with experience in effectively performing root cause analysis and interpreting metrics as a measure of calibration performanceExcellent partnering skills with the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical staff across the organizationGood understanding of complex utility, manufacturing, and laboratory equipmentAvailability to respond to after-hours equipment emergencies on a scheduled rotational basisWork Environment

The work environment includes both laboratory settings and the manufacturing floor. Some tasks require work in cleanrooms with full gowning.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.67 - $55.29/hr.
