DEKA R&D has an immediate opening for a Calibration Technician to work on the Quality team in a modern dynamic Medical Device Research and Development environment. This is a high visibility role with a significant impact on the schedules and success of projects.
How you will make an impact:Enter measurement and test equipment into the calibration program per proceduresMaintain the calibration information database with equipment specifications, accuracy, and other information relevant to the equipment calibration programMaintain Calibration History records and associated filesInteract with internal personnel and contract calibration laboratories to coordinate calibrationsPerform in-house calibrations following calibration procedures and documentationInitiate paperwork and notify personnel of equipment found to be out of acceptable limits or missingGather equipment due for calibration and return upon completionAssist with the development and maintenance of in-house calibration proceduresAssist with the development and maintenance of spreadsheets and formulas to aid in analysis of calibration dataProvide engineering analysis and guidance for metrology issuesAd hoc requestsTo succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:Preferred candidates have medical device manufacturing experience and experience with equipment calibration including:ESD equipmentElectronic measurement equipment such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, flow meters, digital thermometers, balances, pressure gages, etc.Mechanical measurement equipment such as calipers, micrometers, depth gages, torque wrenches, etc. Strong communication skillsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailKnowledge of ISO 17025, ANSI/NCSL Z540-1 and -2Experience in a Medical device development and manufacturing environment, knowledge of FDA’s Quality System Regulations (QSR’s), ISO 13485 and other medical device industry preferredA degree in an engineering discipline is preferred but not requiredASQ Certified Calibration Technician preferred but not required
